To the Fallen

In 2016 I got the opportunity to compose a piece for one of Sweden's most well known brass quintets, the John Bauer Brass. This piece was one of those pieces that practically wrote itself, something that is very rare for me as a composer. I wrote the outline to the piece in just one day and that was it. To the Fallen is a tribute to everything and everyone that isn't with us anymore and it is a hymn that might, just for a second, fill the empty space after something that is missing. It is a piece with an intention to, not only please the listeners, but also the musicians and in the end you'll be able to hear the taps, often played during ceremonial funerals.
